I'm surprised there still isn't a general discussion thread for the anime series. Well, now there is.

So, anyone wanna hear what the theme song for the XY anime is gonna be?

Spoiler

Anyway, it seems the gap between the original Jp and Eng Dub episodes was getting too narrow, so they've pushed back the debut of the XY series until mid-January, however, since we already saw the first two episodes a while back in a special preview, the first new episode won't be until Ep 3 in February.

Also, on the same day the XY series debuts, they'll also be re-airing the Genesect movie, an HD re-mastered version of the first movie (which already aired in Japan a while ago), and for the first time in the US, the Mewtwo special which served as a prologue to the Genesect movie.

The Pokemon anime is going to be coming to Hulu. The 10th season (Diamond/Pearl), the Darkrai movie, and all four episodes of Origins are all now available. Also, the 11-13th seasons of the tv show (the rest of DP) and the other three DP movies will also be added soon. It seems they'll also be adding the first two episodes of XY soon, and i assume more episodes after they air on tv.

Oh, that's kinda good to know.  Sometimes it's hard finding these shows.

Strongest Mega Evolution to premiere in April

A new TV special is set to air next month in Japan. This TV special will feature a new, original character and not Ash. It will be called "Strongest Mega Evolution - Act I" and will be about a trainer named Alan who goes around with his Charizard with the goal of finding and battling every Mega Evolution there is. Ultimately, this will culminate in him meating the Elite Four's Siebold, who apparently will use a Mega Blastoise.

Every mega evolution there is, eh? Maybe that means we'll get an in-game event pertaining to the currently unobtainable mega evolutions?

Oh, and speaking of the anime, apparently the Indigo League on Netflix cuts off immediately before Ash competes in the Pokémon league. WTF?

Unobtainable Mega Evolutions? Wait, don't tell me! I'm still trying to avoid spoilers and all.

The movie doesn't come out in Japan until July, and yet we already have an english trailer? God damn, the Pokemon Company has been on fire lately.

My gawd, dude. That trailer was so incredibly embarrassing to watch. I kept hoping neither of my parents would walk in before it ended. I don't recall the other films feeling this corny. Well, they were, but I guess I didn't feel it as much when I was younger. I'm only comparing it to this first 2 films, btw. :P I didn't see anything past The Movie 2000, which was bad-fucking-ass in theaters.

The entire first series, The Indigo League, is due to be released in a giant, single dvd boxset due out in October for about $40

Personally, i already have three smaller boxsets that cover that whole season, which i bought i think around the time that D/P was around. But if i didn't already have those, i would probably snatch this up, cuz it's a great value for what in my opinion is the only era of the anime worth actually owning on DVD.
