It's Live everyone!

I've been playing all night. The online mode is surprisingly 100x more solid than the 3DS version. I don't think I've had a single match with any lag yet.

I still haven't gotten my GameCube adapter yet so I've been playing with the pro controller. The default control scheme for the pro controller is totally bass ackwards, and since the custom controls aren't permanent like on the 3DS I keep forgetting to choose my name EVERY TIME I enter a  new online lobby. Whenever that happens I just forfeit the match, I simply can't play at all with Tap to Jump and reversed triggers. No thanks.

I need some sleep. -_-

I stayed up til nearly 2am before calling it quits cuz I had to wake up for work today. xP!!

Anyway, like TownKID, I did have one gripe with this game which REALLY annoyed me: THE DEFAULT CONTROLS! At least Ball-Sackurai properly addressed it in today;s Pic of the Day:

https://miiverse.nin...CAAAYUKlwfx74kA

Why the hell did he HAVE TO make L and R be shield and ZL/ZR be grab by default?! That shit is so annoying! Before playing a single match, I fucked with all the options (including setting Engage the Enemy as top priority on Gaur Plain), and I saw that the default for grabbing/shielding was fucked up. I tried to change it, but I saw that u can't change the default, and u have to choose a name. Like in Brawl. Fine, whatever. But what's most annoying is that you can't set that name to be default. On P1, because TWICE it happened that I set my bet on Classic Mode using all my gold (not even reaching 9), and then I was fucked into shitty controls. I even died a couple times thanks to that shit. The 2nd time this happened, I backed out immediately, hopeing to get my coins back, but nope. The highest it let me raise my bet was 3.2, iirc.

With GCN controls this won't be a problem, but at parties when I don't have enough GCNs, I'll be forgetting to set the name EVERY TIME for the WUPro.

I set L to shield and R to grab. I don't like using Z on the GCN. Also, the name thing keeps fucking me up. I wish I could log in as ROBOK and keep my setttings in every mode while I play. No rumble.

Online is far better than 3DS (though loading times are just as long for some reason), of course, only regional people have the game. I expect it to slow down as more people have it.

a quick blog post:

Last night at Gamestop was the most fun I ever had waiting in line. My wife went with me for some reason, but it was awesome cause some of my college friends were there. I live in a major us city, in one of the most densely populated neighborhoods. Gamestop was PACKED. And I had a blast playing local 3DS matches while waiting for the release.

Amiibo were flying off the shelves too. I think most of the shelved ones were gone by the time I left. They look good, I didn't see any weird ones...peach is the ugliest and even she just looked more like a Mcdonalds peach than anything else; not terrible and I believe kids will like her without noticing the weirdness in the face.

/blog

I'm really feeling this! (they do different stuff after 50 seconds so keep watching)

Got my GameCube controller adapter today, and it was quite the fascinating and perilous journey.

Upon descending upon thee local AmusementStopover I was informed of the horrendous ne- ok, fuck it, I don't care enough to keep this going.

Local GameStop was out along with any nearby, but I checked online and found one a bit further that had it. Was waiting in line at that store and literally seconds before I was at the register someone called and reserved that last one. And by last one, I mean literally the last one in any GameStop within at least a 80-mile radius, and likely much further. Called Best Buy and none in the Phoenix Metro area (which is huge) had any. No Targets even got any. All Wal*Mart's within a searchable radius were sold out until at least December 2nd. Almost gave up when I remembered the only Fry's Electronics in the state was nearby, and it turns out they still had tons. THANK GOD. Sped over there and picked it up. Now I can play as God intended, as even the Wii U Pro is kind of funky to use. I actually found I'm better with the 3DS than the Pro simply because I'm more used to it. XD

Hell, as soon as it was announced I knew he would. :P

I wonder if we should have a content sharing thread on here like we did for Brawl? Can you even save content to an SD card anymore or no (I assume no)?

So i tried transferring some mii fighters over, only to realize that you can't edit transferred ones. I guess i'll just remake them from scratch, instead. Speaking of which, though, i kept meaning to upload pics of the ones i made on 3DS, but never got around to it. I gotta get on that. I wish you could make more then eight, though.
