Ok we all know the turbulent story of Factor 5 from their excellent Star Wars: Rogue Squadron games to the subsequent closure at the hands of Lair flopping on Sony's PlayStation 3.  Their US branch closed in 2009 followed by their overseas parent in 2011.

Well Factor 5 have reopened their doors and announced they have the full rights to the Turrican franchise again!

The following comes from Julian Eggebrecht, Co-Founder of Factor 5...

- Switch is performance wise between Wii U and Xbox One
- developing is as easy or even easier than on PS4
- all modern GPU Standards
- they got all rights back to Turrican

Seems like Eggebrecht knows a good deal about the Switch, and it's obvious they're working on the system. Can't wait to see what they're doing!

It's awesome that they're back, but... I've never heard of Turrican. What's that, a shitstorm? Like, a Turd Hurricane?

Cool, it's like some Contra-Metroid-Megaman thing. =)

I'm just not sure how a new one of those would be received. There's tons of indie shit that offers side scrolling shit like that, and I don't know how they could change it enough and reboot it, possibly making it a 3d movement game... We'll see.
