A new Nintendo Direct that has Nintendo Switch, 3DS, ARMS, and Splatoon 2 coverage is coming on April 12th at 3 PM Pacific time!

You can view the US Nintendo Direct here:

A YouTube link will go up within 30 minutes before showtime for those not wanting to use Twitch/the ND site.

Now brace yourself:  Most of the Direct will focus on ARMS and Splatoon 2 only, but a few other tidbits shouldn't be out of the question (remember e3 2017 is around the corner, so Nintendo can't spill it all now).

Awesome, it's always great when a Direct is held on my day off of work. And since it's in the afternoon this time, i can still sleep in that day.

Ok, here's what went on at yesterday's ND:

Highlights --

Pikmin 3DS is known as Hey! Pikmin.  It's basically Pikmin converted into a 2D platformer instead of a 3D adventure.  You can discuss the game here.

More new amiibo (the final Smash amiibo got announced for this summer).

New Joy-Con color (Neon Yellow) for Nintendo Switch.  Joy-Cons to get battery pack attachments.

Payday 2 is being ported to Switch.  If you haven't heard of it, you can read about the first game here.  You can play as one of a number of members in an organized crime ring.  Your job is assist the team in various heists, drugs, kidnappings, mob hits, etc. while making sure you don't get caught by the cops.  You have to make sure you bring the right equipment or your missions will fail before they begin.  You can read up on the sequel here.  Also be forewarned:  Payday has a really awful fanbase in that newbies are expected to play as seasoned veterans on day one like in Left 4 Dead.  If you do something like bring a wrong gun, expect your multiplayer teammates to either leave your lobby, troll you, or kick you out if they have kicking options.

A limited amount of Switch docks will be sold for those that need multiple docks in a home.

Splatoon 2 has a new mode not seen in the first Splatoon: Salmon Run.  I'm sure Torgo will post about it in the Splatoon 2 thread.
