Ayy, I was able to snag these. I haven't really been keeping up with amiibo stuff lately, I honestly didn't even know some were still kind of rare.
Is there any value in being a NiB collector? All my amiibo are still in their box (except for a few that got accidentally open by some children, I repurchased those ones), I don't know if I still need to do that, but I also mostly don't care about the amiibo bonuses in games.
I'm beyond hype for this game. I never got very far in my virtual console copy of Metroid 2, but I picked it up on a recent Metroid stint where I was going through as much Metroid as I could. I only killed about 7 Metroids, but yeah that game was practically unplayable and in desperate need of a remake. I was really excited when AM2R was released. I grabbed it as quickly as I could. I didn't (and still don't) really have a PC to play it on so I installed it on my machine at work and used my Xbox One controller. I annoyingly had to use the analogue stick instead of the D-pad to control Samus and I couldn't find out how to remap it properly so I kind of gave up on it. It was really pretty though and I did appreciate the changes and updates they made, very well done. BUT! I really like the direction they're taking this 3DS remake, everything looks really good and well thought out. I'm excited, and I love 2.5D shit.
I think both Samus Returns and AM2R have their place. I'll probably revisit it after a playthrough of Samus Returns.
I'm absolutely loving the new weapons, powerups, and MOST IMPORTANTLY!! The fucking style of the inklings. Definitely a day one purchase on this one.
Hopefully with the paid online service we'll get better connections, faster matchmaking, IN GAME VOICE CHAT somehow, not just in like the lobby. I haven't seen any headset or chat accessories for the Switch so idek how it's going to work, but that's what I'm hoping for.
I was never really a fan of Miiverse. It seemed like way too much effort to post and keep up with. So, meh.
Streetpass is a lot of fun though. I actually enjoy the streetpass games and the collectible aspect of it. It's mostly useful for me when I'm at like DragonCon where everybody brings a 3DS and is streetpassing while waiting in line for panels. It got kind of obnoxious for me once the extra streetpass games came out, and (before) when you could only hold 10 characters per session it was almost impossible to do the collecting / playing in all the games before getting to clear your queue.
Still, if Nintendo plans on ditching the 3DS if the Switch ends up super successful, I'll definitely miss Streetpassing.
This is so sad. I haven't really seen too many videos or whatever of the game but I thought it was coming along pretty well as far as I could tell.
I didn't support the kickstarter because personally I'm not into the idea of participating in crowdfunding. But I was definitely going to buy the game when it launched. Now... I'm not so sure if I ever will. But I might. Eh.
Fuck Yeah @ No gyro. I like Gyro for aiming in Zelda 3DS, but I expect to hate it in Star Fox Zero's first-person view. If you look at the Gamepad footage, it looks like hell. The screen shakes back and forth nonstop because your actual movement is directly tied to where you look. This makes it difficult to tell where you are without looking forward again, which results in exactly that--looking forward again--which further results in the display going everywhere. Thanks, but no thanks. All I asked for is a purist Star Fox with incredible graphics from the start anyway. Now we have a gyro-based StarFox with decent graphics. At the very least we have the good news that the Gyro controls could be disabled. I actually expected this to be the case from the start, but in hindsight that was foolhardy of me, given the mandatory gyro camera bullshit that plagues Toad's Treasure Trackers.
I don't know what you're talking about. I never once played Toad Treasure Tracker with Gyro controls.
I'm pretty disappointed that they wasted a character slot on Roy... especially how there's already a fucking Marth clone in the game. No idea what the point of that is.
I've barely played any street fighter because i hate traditional fighting games, so I know literally nothing about Ryu other than his name and what he looks like and what HADOUKEN means. Quite uninterested. But more character DLC is a good thing. Still waiting for Banjo Kazooie.
I had a pretty good day today. I got all the Amiibo I wanted, fairly easily. There was also a shit ton of everything except for Robin and Lucina at my local TRU. I got the Silver Mario thinking it would be rare but they seem pretty fucking common so far. Oh well, I still haven't gotten a Mario Amiibo at all so I might keep it but Morgil let me know if you're unable to find one later.
