Posted by Ngamer01 on 29 August 2017 - 09:57 AM

https://gonintendo.c...available-requi

NoA does a complete breakdown if you can't be bothered to watch GameXplain:

Why is Miiverse going away?
>> Declining userbase due to people preferring other social media for sharing Nintendo content.

Can we download our posts?
>> Yes, here:  https://miiverse.nin...ownload_request

>> You must make your request before Miiverse is terminated.  After termination, NoA will email you a link where you can download your posts.

>> You must have a Nintendo Account and have it linked to your Nintendo Network ID.

What content will NoA keep for post histories that are requested?
>> Every post you've made including drawings and screenshots.  Comments you've made on friends' posts and PMs to friends will not be saved.  You must save them yourself.
>>>> If you've had posts removed from Miiverse either by your choice or by mods/admins, you will not be able to recover them.

>> All screenshots you've saved in your Screenshot Album (remember you have a limit of 100 screenshots).

>> When Miiverse is terminated, it's possible some posts and images may be lost.

>> If you made a request, but then change your Nintendo Account/NNID/etc or remove accounts, you will not have your request fulfilled.

Can I download my history via non-PC means?

>> No.  A PC is required to retrieve your posts.  The history will be supplied in a ZIP file, so you must have an application on PC to open your ZIP file.

What happens if I break Miiverse rules after making my post history request?

>> Administrators may deny your post history requests if you break rules after the requests.

When will Miiverse be toast?

>> November 7th, 2017 at 10 PM Pacific (11 PM Mountain, Nov. 8 at 12 AM Central, & Nov. 8 at 1 AM Eastern)

Can I access Miiverse after the service ends?

>> No.  Miiverse on 3DS, Wii U, and the web will be toast.

Will Nintendo update 3DS and Wii U Home Menus to remove the Miiverse icon?

>> No.  The icons will be left alone, but pressing them will generate an error message/code after service ends.

What games are affected by Miiverse's end?

>> Super Mario Maker (Wii U version):  Players can still post new levels, but users can no longer post comments on the levels.

>> Mario vs. DK: Tipping Stars (Wii U & 3DS): You will only be able to play the main game as the Community mode will be discontinued.  You will also no longer be able to unlock everything for the Workshop (place to build custom levels).
>> Splatoon (Wii U):  Miiverse posts will no longer be seen in-game.
>> Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS:  Miiverse Stage (Wii U) will remain playable, but Miiverse posts will no longer show.  Players will not able to post replays to YouTube/Miiverse (Wii U only), share stages (Wii U & 3DS), or create custom tournaments (Wii U).
>> Mario Kart 8 Wii U):  Players can no longer post replays to YT/Miiverse and tournaments will discontinue.
>> Super Mario 3D World (Wii U):  Miiverse posts will no longer show, but stamps will still be collectable even if you can't use them anymore.
>> Xenoblade Chronicles X:  BLADE reports will no longer be available.

What happens to Wara Wara Plaza on Wii U?

>> It will permanently reset to offline mode so Nintendo's default application icons and first run tips will be shown.

What happens to Wii U Chat on Wii U?

>> It will end after Miiverse closes.

Will Nintendo keep Miiverse viewable in archive mode?

>> No, but they will email users that made requests with archive links after Miiverse ends.

Will Miiverse be resurrected on Switch?

>> Currently no, but Switch has other social media support like Twitter.

If I missed anything, tell me!

#16528565 Smash Bros. 4 Wii U Post-Launch Topic.

Posted by Ngamer01 on 29 August 2017 - 09:13 AM

I haven't touched this game since early 2016.  Last Thursday I managed to play about an hour with Plant, Sam, and Robok.  Here's the first of four vids.

If I had any shitty deaths, I blame lag.

#16528395 Sonic Mania

SEGA says no DLC are on the cards for Sonic Mania.  When a SEGA rep was asked, he said they wanted to make Sonic Mania fully feature complete like how older games used to be released as (mission pack games aside).

Yes, but the good thing is it's battery backed so it can remember where I last left off.  =V

Cakes can hardly ever be 100% accurate due to production limitations, but this cake is still amazing though!

#16528351 So... What are you playing? (general discussion)

Posted by Ngamer01 on 12 August 2017 - 07:41 AM

@Morgil:  Yeah money was the big issue in Dragon Quest I on the NES so much so that gold drops got doubled in the remakes.  The rule of thumb for DQ I on NES:  Don't advance to the next town/area without grinding money to buy out all of the previous town's best weapons and armor first.

Anyways I would like to say I'm playing Breath of Wild still, but I've had shit happen that is blocking me from playing the games I want to be playing now, so all I'm playing at the moment are Picross games on DS/3DS (and the occasional online game -- Blops 2 and MK8 / MK8 DX).  =/

Nintendo may have been teasing the new DLC character in previous updates/postings in a foreshadowing way.  GameXplain analyzes the posts/updates to see what they can find out of what Nintendo put out there.

#16528282 Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Announced for 3DS

Welp (looks like TPC wants to stay ahead of CoroCoro again).  If that's Lycanroc's new form, I can bet there's going to be a second new form too.

HEY PLANT, I FOUND YOUR NEW FAVE POKEMON*:

Since I haven't been able to do much, I made another montage from recent Blops 2 vids:

#16528249 The YouTube/Video Thread (p.s. Other M is the shit)

Posted by Ngamer01 on 05 August 2017 - 08:35 AM

...I never knew stuff like this existed:

It's a predecessor to DVD games where you needed a special Terebikko phone hooked up to a TV/VCR.  Anyways the "game" pictured is "Mario to Yoshi no Bouken Land".  It's basically a loose adaptation of the SNES's Super Mario World.  The basic premise of Super Mario World is kept, but a number of elements were changed for this Terebikko game.

Anyways while the "game" plays out, the main heroes may occasionally stop to "call" you on your Terebikko and then you solve their puzzles/questions by pressing the right button on the phone.  If you get the answer right, the game resumes.  If you get it wrong, you get to try again until you get it right.

#16528242 Mario Kart Wii

Posted by Ngamer01 on 04 August 2017 - 11:29 AM

Well this warrants a thread revival.  Apparently an unused mission mode was found in Mario Kart Wii:

Back during MK Wii's development, there were plans for a mission mode before the mode was cut and replaced with tournaments (which really was Nintendo gave us missions and we all competed to get on the leaderboards).  Of course after Wii got hacked, it made tournaments not worth it due to trolls hacking online play.

#16528143 Did You Know Gaming Videos

Posted by Ngamer01 on 25 July 2017 - 03:07 PM

I didn't put this in the Metroid DYKG thread over in the Metroid board since these type of DYKG? videos often bounce several different trivia items from various games/companies/platforms into one video instead of focusing on one subject at a time.

Torgo will appreciate this all the same though.  =P

#16528142 Pokemon Go (Mobile); F2P with In-App Purchases

Posted by Ngamer01 on 25 July 2017 - 03:04 PM

Looks like the GO Fest may be responsible for a couple of new/known glitches.

Lugia's display may be fucked up to some people:

And for those wondering where Team Instinct's leader vanished to for TI players:

https://gonintendo.com/stories/286072-pokemon-go-where-has-team-instinct-s-leader-gone

Niantic says it's a glitch and they are working to bring Instinct's leader back to TI players.  I wonder if Niantic will lampshade this with added character dialogue when the TI leader has returned?
