I dislike digital loot boxes on this premise: You don't really own when you get as once the developer and/or publisher abandon the game for a newer sequel or a different game all together, your loot is stuck in the abandoned game and can't be moved anywhere else. CoD is the worst offender in this case as stuff in Advanced Warfare can't be used in other CoDs, Black Ops III's loot can't be used in other CoDs, and so on down the line. Every new game you start from scratch completely and have to obtain all new loot even if said loot are reskins of previous weapons that appear in previous CoDs. That XMC you get in Black Ops III? You cannot use it outside Black Ops III even if it was a reskin of Black Ops II's MSMC.
You're basically gambling to try obtaining temporary loot. That's my biggest problem with this.
Good night, sweet prince and thank you for all the fish.
Funny enough though, the 3DS's Miiverse still has offline mode (just turn off your 3DS internet), though you can't do anything with it unless you happen to either have a 3DS capture card or don't mind pointing a phone camera/actual camera at your 3DS screen. I could see Nintendo patching out 3DS Miiverse offline mode though.
EDIT - I decided to take some pictures (taken with Elgato Capture HD) from the final night of Miiverse first starting with Wara Wara Plaza:
Due to not wanting to blow up this post any bigger, I'll be linking to the rest of my pictures.
The following is a rumor, but a supplier has let slip something about a Breath of the Wild Explorers Bundle coming later this year. This may hint at DLC pack 2 coming out on November 23rd or later as Nintendo may bundle the season pass into this so that you can have both DLCs included with the bundle instead of buying the pass or packs separately from the Switch eShop.
I have been playing PokePark Wii 1 up until I beat the game (non-100% run), I am nearly done with Breath of the Wild on Switch (non-100% run), and I'm also nearly done with Picross S. When I finish BotW and Picross S, I'll probably pick Pokemon Picross back up in addition to hopping back online on some games I've left sitting for far too long (besides Blops 2 and MK 8).
Originally I had five shrines remaining and I knew where the 5th one was. I found two of the four across Hyrule on my own, but had trouble figuring out how to activate the shrine quest for one of them to appear. I had to use a guide to find out how to trigger the shrine quest and find the last two shrines hidden across Hyrule (since again the 5th shrine was in Hyrule Castle).
After I rearm, I'll head for the final boss finally. I'm not 100%ing the game though. 900 Korok seeds? The final Trial of the Sword? Fuck off!
Yesterday on October 23, it was announced that LEGO Dimensions is over. No new content will be produced (both digitally and the figures for the game) going forward. They have confirmed that online and custom service support will continue and that any expansions/figures you've bought will still work with the game. You can still buy older expansion packs/figures too if you like.
This discontinuation of new content pretty much leaves Nintendo's amiibo as the only "Toys-to-Life" maker in the market that's still producing "Toys-to-Life" content currently.
Due to there being a PC beta of WWII, dataminers have leaked many items that may be in the final version of the game:
Of all the things, these are the major items (though these are subject to last minute changes) --
1) Advanced Recon Plane (the Advanced UAV)
>> When calling this in, all enemy players are shown as red arrows revealing where they are looking at, but the radar sweep is not live. The scorestreak will sweep the map a few times updating the red arrows while the enemy players are moving about the map. Assumingly the Counter Recon Aircraft might be able to shoot down the Advanced Recon or block the Advanced UAV effect. The Advanced Recon should also be able to be shot down. It is unknown though if there will be scorestreak variants that will turn the Advanced Recon into a Blackbird/Orbital VSAT or if calling in multiple Advanced Recons will enable the Blackbird/Orbital VSAT effect.
2) Emergency Airdrop
>> When calling this in, several Care Packages are dropped on the map in a radius around your Care Package marker. This Scorestreak has a good chance at randomly awarding high-cost Scorestreaks, but the tradeoff is it takes awhile for the Care Packages to drop onto the map and it's also possible for these packages to go out of bounds preventing you or your team from recovering them (though the upside is enemies won't be able to get out of bounds packages).
3) Dogs (Attack Dogs / K9 Unit)
>> This will spawn a bunch of dogs on the map who then seek out and maul enemies. It is unknown if this generation of dogs will be counterable. Usually Treyarch's styled dogs have immunity to everything but guns and knives.
4) V2 Rocket (Scorestreak? Or the Nuke?)
>> If you remember the Valkyrie Rockets from Black Ops 1, you basically fire (a) manually controlled rocket(s) and it's up to you to direct the rocket(s) into enemies. However these weapons when using during the actual World War II had the ability to leave 60 foot craters, so it could be possible these rockets could be the "Nuke" of the game. Past games had nukes that killed all enemies on the map, implement EMP effects (enemies had radar disabled and couldn't call in their streaks for a time), and depending on the game, could immediately give you/your team the win automatically.
