#16528090 Call of Duty: WWII (CoD 2017 - Sledgehammer Games)

Posted by Ngamer01 on 20 July 2017 - 01:19 PM

The Zombies trailer has arrived after an early leak a few days ago.  Drift0r picked through it for pure gameplay-ish footage.

As we know already, older Zombies modes were a mix between serious horror and B-rated horror.  WWII's Zombies looks to do away with the campy B-rated horror in its entirety to focus on pure, harsh horror.  The zombies look more gruesome than ever and with that comes heavier gore that you can inflict on zombies.

In CoD games there is usually one or more modes that makes the games M-rated.  Zombies looks to be the one that makes CoD: WWII M-rated this time.

Given the Natu and the shadow body type, it's Xatu, Plant.

https://gonintendo.c...o-version-1-1-7

1.1.7 is out for Smash U and 3DS which adds support for Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta amiibos.  There are no other changes.  If you never updated to 1.1.6 (Bayonetta nerf), any update you do to 1.1.7 will remove your replays.  Your replays should be safe if you update from 1.1.6 though.

NoA had said the "NEW" 3DS smaller model has not been discontinued in the US, but with Europe now saying the "NEW" 3DS smaller model is toast for PAL regions, we all know NoA is full of shit.

#16528022 The I'm-A-Squid-Now Thread

Posted by Ngamer01 on 12 July 2017 - 10:47 AM

I want to be available, but I can't make any promises.  We just have to see.

However that app won't be out in time, Torgo.  It's scheduled to release when the final version of Splatoon 2 releases.  Just send a Discord ping and if I happen to be available, I'll see about joining in.

I don't know if I'll be available to play on the 15th, but I went ahead and downloaded the Splatfest demo and made my character and team choice.

#16527871 The My Nintendo Thread - Nintendo's Rewards Program

Well since Hey! Pikmin is releasing next month, it's Pikmin update day on My Nintendo:

http://gonintendo.co...-june-27th-2017

• Pikmin Short Movies (3D)
• Pikmin Short Movies (HD)
• Hey! Pikmin Wallpaper

Guess I'll use my coins for the movies.  That's all I can do really since My Nintendo sucks, is lame, and is suckingly lame.

#16527848 Star Fox 2 (SNES) - Finally Releases in US via SNES Classic on Sept. 29, 2017...

Posted by Ngamer01 on 26 June 2017 - 01:46 PM

H2x1_SNES_Starfox2_image800w.jpg

The history of Star Fox has been one of twists, turns, good fortunes, and bad times.  Star Fox started on the SNES bringing a blend of polygonial 3D combined with Mode 7 thanks to the Super FX chip.  You play as Fox McCloud, leader of a band of mercenaries called Star Fox.  During the first game, Fox is contracted out to help provide support to Corneria to drive back Andross's forces whose leader wants to rule Corneria and the universe.  Fox would find the mad man on Venom and defeat him.

This leads to Star Fox 2, a game that brings more to what the first game offered and brought a bigger story to the series.  Andross would regroup his forces and try again to assault Corneria including hiring his own band of mercenaries, Star Wolf.  Star Fox is contracted by Corneria again to defend Corneria, drive back Andross's forces, and defeat Andross once again.  Star Fox would be joined by two new pilots, Miyu and Fay.  A third pilot, Fara Phoenix, from the short Star Fox comic that ran in Nintendo Power would have also been present, but she was cut after the alpha build.

Unfortunately development of Star Fox 2 hit a roadblock due to being developed at the time the N64 was under development and coming to the US in 1996.  Fearing the potential loss of sales of releasing near or after the N64's release, the game was cancelled and a lot of the game's concepts were later recycled into Star Fox 64 that rebooted the Star Fox franchise from scratch and later Star Fox Command, the game that killed the current rebooted timeline leading to another franchise reboot with Star Fox Zero on Wii U (which also used some elements from Star Fox 2).

It was previously thought the SNES Star Fox and the cancelled Star Fox 2 would remain lost to time via complicated legal and copyright issues due to Argonaut Software's collapse (remember the SNES games were co-developed between Nintendo and Argonaut with Argonaut retaining Super FX chip rights), but with the announcement of Star Fox 1 and 2 coming to the US via the SNES Classic, apparently the rights issues have been resolved.  It is unknown for how long these rights will last though.  We can only hope these games don't become lost again when the SNES Classic reaches end-of-life.

While I made this thread to magnify the news of Star Fox 2 releasing for the first time ever, feel free to use this thread to also talk about Star Fox 1 on the SNES.  After all you will need to at least finish the first level in 1 to unlock SF2 to play on SNES Classic!

Guess I should post that until further notice that I may be sparse online starting tomorrow.  My grandma is going in for knee surgery tomorrow and I myself have a meeting with a dentist mid-week about getting some dental work done.  The main thing is though if my grandma can recover well enough to be completely discharged and sent home (following the recovery + physical rehabiliation phase), I'll have to step up checking on her for the considerable future.

Weather wise, the only worry is possible tropical weather brewing later in the week that can throw a monkey wrench into well everything:

#16527731 Unrest at Konami

Posted by Ngamer01 on 17 June 2017 - 06:15 AM

It's taken some time, but we're starting to see some reasons why Kojima and Konami feuded (including stupidly not dropping said feud after trying to move forward as a games company again).

https://www.gamnesia...th-serious-salt

Whatever previous reasons that were rumored, it was actually creative differences between the two.  Kojima had his plans for Metal Gear's future, but Konami didn't like what the future held and tried interfering.  As we remember, Kojima had been wanting to end Metal Gear for awhile, but Konami got a few more games out of him instead.  But when the feuding really began, Konami became a bitter ex-wife and took all of Kojima's stuff.  Konami even blocked Kojima and his attempt at getting him and his development team health coverage.

After Kojima left and Metal Gear Survive was announced, Kojima was asked about it and he scoffed at the premise just like we did.  When Konami heard of this, they issued a statement that Kojima was slandering the company.  But of everything posted so far, we haven't hit the scummy bottom yet.

After Kojima and crew bailed on Konami, Konami warned other gaming companies about hiring ex-Konami employees stating that any hirings could affect their business with Konami.  Another scummy thing:  Ex-Konami employees aren't even allowed to state they worked for Konami in the past.

So again FUCKKONAMI.  All of Konami's management needs to get fired.  They will bankrupt the company at this rate.

There is a new Puzzle Swap panel, Culdcept Revolt.  It's an all-blue panel, so if you've got the Play Coins, you can try buying your way to completion.  Also with e3 around the corner, we should probably expect Special Guest Miis to be distributed by Nintendo.
