Recently I decided to try some more tinkering with emulators, and successfully set up a Sharp X86000 emulator to run in English with my gamepads as controllers. It's a really cool system, and emulation makes it even better, as I can overclock the software's processor to make games run better than they would on the real system and give it more emulated RAM, which gets rid of sprite and texture flickering.
Dude, that's fuckin sick. The X68000 had some cool music if you had the right hardware. I didn't know there was an emulator for the X68000. Does it emulate the alternative music devices?
Like it'll take more than a few seconds to load a page. It comes and goes, and I don't really keep track of it or anything. Sometimes I log in and it takes awhile to open something, like ten or twenty seconds.
What I meant was, what is NGamer doing? You said "NGamer has you covered on the technical side of things."
I'm on the Nintendo hatred train perhaps more than most in thinking they're (very intuitively) re-releasing things with lower or minimal effort from their studios' standpoints (see: Mario maker, hyrule warriors, Yoshikawa wooly world, any others cross-made as basically timed exclusives for the Wii U/3DS.) The whole Wii U era has been a disaster as I'm sure you're aware and point blank I'm far more hesitant in supporting them nowadays.
This is one of the reasons I haven't been around lately. Nintendo's current strategy is causing them to lose older gamers like myself who argued for the Super Nintendo during elementary school recess during the great console wars of the 90's(a moment of silence for those we lost). I don't even care about the Switch. I can go into this more in-depth in a separate topic if people care enough.
I was going to post this in the private Elder board, but decided that it should be for all to see instead.
First off, I want to apologize for being mostly absent for the last few years. If it were any other website I'd have been demoted down from admin years ago by the others, but because of the casual nature of the administration around here I haven't, and I need to thank the other admins for keeping my ass around. Thus, I feel that I have a responsibility to return to form, and I am committed to running the site again.
I've heard that I'm not alone in being absent, which is a little concerning, but the community has always been self-moderating and(mostly) mature and friendly with each other. You could say my job as an admin is pretty boring.
In any case, I need to be brought up to speed on what's going on around here and I would like to hear what you have to say about the site. Critical feedback is appreciated (I can take it). I have some ideas for the site, but I would like your input before I implement anything.
Yes, I played a good majority of the game at 60FPS, except the parts I played with the internal resolution set to 4k(which I changed to 2k shortly after), and the parts where I streamed to twitch. OpenGL has regular framerate drops, such as in Chozo Sanctuary Plaza, where it dropped to 30fps, making the game run at half speed. Vulkan was highly unstable when streaming to twitch, so I had to use OpenGL to render it instead.
I'd link to my gameplay footage but there's 4k footage on youtube of every single boss fight done by someone else that frankly, looks much better than mine(not streaming quality).
You're obviously looking at the tops of two different lines.
i'm at the top of all the lines
