Since I last posted I've seen Logan, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and Alien Covenant. All three are pretty flawed in one way or another, with Alien: Covenant being downright dreadful.
I can't remember what I didn't like about Logan because it's so fucking forgettable, Guardians had a weak villain and no real weight to any of its character arcs, and Alien: Covenant was just bad in pretty much every way it could be as far as story goes. At least it looked pretty I guess.
There's other shit that I'm leaving out, but basically the sole redeeming quality is that it heavily plays on nostalgia--so much so, that it may give you just enough motivation to trudge through all the shit to see the game to the end... maybe.
If your biggest redeeming quality is "it heavily relies on nostalgia" you made a shitty product.
But the Internet has also given us a world where no one is willing to take off their rose tinted glasses and look at things like actual adults, so...
